Behind on pictures

1/11 Tonight was the first time they shared a bath! Nicholas was solo in this picture.
1/11 Here they are together! They seemed to have a good time!
1/2 Nana's birthday, and Alex in Buckeye attire (despite his mom and dad's feelings about OSU).

12/30 The boys enjoyed the King sized bed at the hotel and looked very sweet in the crib together (although they didn't do much sleeping in it).
I will try to post some holiday pictures soon!

A fire, the croup and a tooth

I haven't posted for a while simply due to lack of time. A week ago Thursday, we had a small kitchen fire that caused a humongous mess in the way of smoke damage throughout the house. The cleaning company that Allstate uses is taking their sweet time, cleaning things up as slowly as humanly possible. So right now, two adults, two babies and three cats are trying to live out of two small bedrooms, and I am losing my mind.

Nicholas awoke abruptly Monday night at about 11:00 pm in respiratory distress, and despite my medical background, I was unprepared for exactly how scary that can be, especially when it is your own precious, little baby. I initially thought that he must have choked on something, but a few minutes later he started coughing like a seal. After a lot of time in the steamy bathroom and some time outside he was doing better, as long as he was in my arms. A trip to the ped the next day revealed a persistent ear infection, plus croup/some-kind-of-wheezy-lung-thing. We went home with omnicef, prednisone, and med nebs.

To top it off, Nick's first tooth appeared the next day (January 4th). My poor little boy has had it very rough! He sounds better now, and seems to be feeling a little better now, too.

Alex is doing pretty well. He has a cough and runny nose, but his ear infection has cleared.

They are both trying to crawl - but since the carpets are still dirty from the fire they haven't had much space at home to practice. . . Arghh.

Oh well. This, too, shall pass. I will post some more pics ASAP.

Let me add apologies to all who have had recent birthdays. You will be getting cards and presents soon.
