Fun with sand and water!

4/23 Outside with the new sand & water activity center. The boys had a great time. Alex is a little but afraid of the grass, but he tolerated it enough to stand and play. Nicholas was all smiles and was soaking wet after about 10 minutes.

Nick is happiest when he is splashing in the water.

Alex focused on the sand.

After our time outside, Nicholas decided it would be fun to crawl underneath the exersaucer. This reminded me of a picture on Mindy's blog when Ethan did the same thing! Nicholas could not figure out how to get out, so I gave him a hand after getting a few pictures. It must be fun because he did it again just a little while ago.

Alex took his first steps!!

He was playing with David this morning and took his first unassisted steps. We then had him do it over and over again so that we could applaud him -- he LOVED it, and was so proud! He takes about 3 steps and then falls into one of us. Sooooooo, cute -- oh boy are we in trouble!

4/19 Eleven months old! Home after daycare and still wanting to play! Nicholas is the smiley guy.

Time to say goodbye to the infant carriers.

4/10 Nana and Poppy stopped by tonight and fed the boys.
4/08 One of the very last times the boys will sit in these carriers. As of today, convertible seats have been installed in both of our cars. . . When did our babies become little boys?
4/08 Alex fell asleep during lunch! I reclined his high chair, and put a blankie on him after he fell alseep with his right hand on his peas. Nick finished his lunch before he fell asleep.
4/01 The boys at Nana's and Poppy's house banging on and (I hate to say) licking the front door.
3/30 Nicholas LOVES his little push walker. He runs all over the place with this. This is also how he like to use it - - backwards.

Over 10 months old!?!?!?! Where has the time gone?

3/19 Oh, how they love bubbles! Happy Nicholas

Could Alex's eyes be any more blue?
3/23 Nicholas has been running a fever for the past two days, but was still able to play a little bit. I snapped a few pics in between all the sobbing that occured today. My poor little guys just aren't feeling well right now.
My little trooper, Nicholas
Watching Alex play seems to make Nick feel a little better
That's a silly face, little boy!

Match Day is finally over

The highly anticipated Match Day has finally come and gone, and we couldn't be happier with the results. I will be at Riverside for my Family Practice Residency. Congratualtions to all of my good friends and fellow students who visit this blog! Thanks for the message, Heather! It was great to hear that you are well!

The boys went with us to Toledo for a mandatory meeting on Wednesday and Match Day on Thursday. While we will never again stay at the Toledo Hilton, the boys had a blast! They were all over the hotel room. I only wish we had thought to bring the video camera - they were so funny!

16 March - Match Day. We had a nice, relaxed morning at the hotel, and the boys enjoyed playing all morning.

This is Ethan, Mindy's little boy, who is just as cute and sweet as can be. Alex and Nicholas had a great time playing with him and his toys on Wednesday and Thursday!

Ethan, Mindy, Susan, Nicholas, Kristy, Alex.

3/15 The boys instantly found the coolest thing about the hotel - the mirror, which by the way was not very securely attached to the wall. Nicholas is on the left, Alex on the right.

Cruisin'

Things are finally starting to seem a little more normal around the Blum house. The painting was finally finished last week (which took three times longer to do than they said it would). But, we are very close to having every thing back together again finally.

The boys are amazing. We have had so much fun today! They are learning to do new things all the time now. Nick now knows how to cruise (only to the right, though) and he can crawl, but only backwards. It's hilarious because he does it just to get upset with where he ends up. Alex can pull himself up like a pro now, and today learned how to pull himself up in his crib. We lowered the his matress just this past Tuesday, so we did it just in time!

If you were feeling bad for Alex after the toy stealing post, don't. He is now the better toy stealer, and he has even branched out into binkie stealing, eye glasses stealing, and attempted hair stealing (ouch).2/4 Half smile from Nicholas In a rare moment, Alex is content to be lying on his back. Nick is completely into one of his favorite toys - a whale that Susan bought him.
Proud to be standing, Nicholas only needed the tiniest nudge to get into a standing position.
When he was in the exersaucer, Alex wanted nothing to do with it. But standing up next to it makes all of its toys so much more exciting!
Happy, happy Nicholas
